Opici Champagne (California) 187ml……$9.95 Pale, golden color with especially fine bubbles. Fresh, fruity aromas. Light and crisp to the taste with a smooth, long finish; the perfect “toast for two”. *Blush Wine* Cypress White Zinfandel (Paso Robles, CA).........$21.95 Bright and youthful, magenta pink in color with fresh fruit aromas of raspberry, strawberry and watermelon. It's summer fruit in a bottle. Great selection for my pasta entrees! *il Vino Bianco* (Lighter Style and Elegant) Due Torri Pinot Grigio (Veneto, Italy).....$23.95 Fresh fruity nose, brilliant pale straw color, a clean taste with a mouth-filling texture and a crisp finish. One glass seems to invite a second. Pairs excellent with any of my seafood dishes and pasta with cream sauces. La Colombaia Pinot Grigio (Dolomite Italy).....$29.95 Estate grown and bottled. Fragrant and fresh with a crisp, dry finish. Would go great with any of my poultry or shrimp dishes. Bigi Orvietto (Umbria, Italy).....$21.95 Umbria's most famous wine! Also known as the "Wine of Popes". Vinification is very careful and modern using a soft press with cold fermentation. The wine is a brilliant pale straw color with a clean, dry, refreshing taste and a pleasing, crisp finish. Great with my grilled seafood and my pasta dishes. Bianco Delle Marche "Fish Bottle" (Marche, Italy)....$26.95 Pale yellow color with green glints, a delicate aroma, a dry, clean, straight-forward taste with a crisp, almost citrus finish. Packaged in a distinctive fish bottle, scales not included, this choice works very well with all of my fresh fish and seafood. *il Vino Bianco* (Medium Style but Subtle) J. Lohr Chardonnay (Monterey, California).....$29.95 Brassy yellow in color, with aromas of peach pie, green apricots, bosc pear, lime and wet stones. This wonderful fruit is complemented by a buttery, toasty, vanilla oak bouquet that is present but not overpowering. They said, "Hey Luigi, try this, you'll like it, I did and I do!" Sterling Vinyards Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley, California).....$32.95 This straw colored gem that hails from some of the most sought after land in Napa Valley, offers offers aromas of fresh mango, passion fruit and apricot. The palate exhibits fresh pineapple and zesty lemon. This finish is dry and crisp. A new discovery of mine that is truly unique! d'Arenberg Olive Grove Chardonnay (McLaren Vale, Australia).....$31.95 At d'Arenberg, olive trees spring up everywhere, on the sides of the roads and in the middle of their Chardonnay vineyard. However, the inconvenience of wild olives is forgotten when their neighbors drop off a bottle or two of their olive oil. This Chardonnay has hints of tropical fruits, pineapple, mango and passion fruit which go right through to the finish of this wine. Maso Canali Pinot Grigio (Trentino, Italy) ....$33.95 The vineyard that produces this wine has been family owned and operated for over 500 years. All grapes are hand harvested, followed by a very gentle pressing to extract only the fresh fruit flavor and maintain a glinting, white hue. A small portion of "late harvest" grapes are added to the blend to intensify the tropical fruit flavors and impart a unique body. It works very well with my milk fed veal and seafood dishes. Moletto Pinot Grigio (Veneto, Italy).....$29.95 A perfectly balanced, crisp and fruity wine. The nose offers tropical fruits, rose petals and tulips to entice your "two lips". Almost sensual enough to dab behind the ears. Full and fresh in the mouth with great acidity, it finishes with lingering flavors of mango, apples and bananas, Will pair great well with my pork, milk fed veal or fish dishes. Villa Rosa Gavi de Gavi (Piedmont, Italy) ......$29.95 Fragrant and fruity with nuances of apples and melons. Slightly oily with a dry and elegant palate. Possessing an unexpected, refreshingly clean finish. Works perfectly with the Zuppa di Pesce. Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling (Margaret River, Western Australia) ....$39.95 A very well balanced and dry palate, finishing clean and long with a lingering sweet citrus fruit, but delicate in structure. An ideal accompaniment to seafood dishes. *"Full Figured"* Tenuta Perolla Mavemma Vermentino (Bolgheri, Italy) .....$39.95 This wine has a bright, clear color with a fruity, aromatic nose. The flavors are of citrus fruits with an herbal, grassy edge. 90% Vermentino, 10% Sauvignon Blanc RED WINES Vampire Pinot Noir (Napa, California).....$33.95 This wine has very rich, dark cherry aromas layered with distinctive licorice and mineral scents. Youthful blueberry, black cherry and licorice flavors are combined with a velvety texture and subtle tannins. Look for Lord Byron’s poem on the label! Carpineto Dogajolo (Tuscany, Italy).....$29.95 Deep ruby to purple in color. A fragrant bouquet of cherries and herbs, accented by hints of vanilla and coffee. The taste is complex, ample yet round on the palate with a soft tannic finish. 80% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Pairs well with our spezzato and poultry selections. Amadeo Chianti (Straw Bottle) (Tuscany, Italy).....$23.95 Packaged in the classic straw flasks! Possessing intense ruby red color with violet overtones. Reminds me much of my grandfather's "style" back in the "old country". Due Torre Merlot (Veneto, Italy).....$23.95 Intense ruby red color with touches of violet, a fruity, grapey fragrance reminiscent of raspberries. A full, dry taste with a clean, pleasant finish.This is a wine that can grace any preparation of meat or poultry, BV Coastal Estates Shiraz (Central & North Coast, California).....$25.95 Vivid, dark ruby to purple in color. Aromas of ripe blueberry, raspberry and minty-vanilla highlight the youthful robustness of this wine. Spicy flavors showcase the light to medium body and velvety texture. Truly a great value that works perfectly with my beef, pork and wild game seletions. *"Medium Style But Subtle"* J. Lohr Cabernet (Monterey, California).....$33.95 Dark ruby red in color with light, youthful red hues. The bouquet is an elegant blend of spices, mocha and violets. Showing ripe and ample tannins with a plump, concentrated structure. Supported by good acidity with flavors of black currants, cedar, clove and mocha. A must try for my pork and poultry selections. Il Leo Chianti (Piedmont. Italy).....$29.95 Ruby red in color with aromas of vibrant flowers and generous vanilla. Very well integrated alcohol, tannin and fruit. Attractively smooth on the palate. If you have forgotten what a good Chianti tastes like, this will jog your memory. A new addition to my list of favorites. La Colombaia Valpolicella Ripasso (Dolomite, Italy).....$26.95 This wine uses Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes that are harvested and vinified to produce Valpolicella, the classic wine of the region. To make Ripasso, this wine is "re-passed" through grapes that are late harvested and air dried on straw mats to yield a wine that is more complex and distinctive. Attention wild game lovers! Campobello Chianti (Tuscany, Italy).....$19.95 This wine is made in the fashion of a young Bordeaux, capturing the quality and essence of those wines but in a classy, easy, friendly, style. The result is a pleasant, vibrant and delicious wine without the tannins of more costly Tuscan reds. Great with all of my tomato and meat sauces. Mario Andretti Zinfandel (Napa Valley, California)....$29.95 Andretti Winery was established in 1996 and takes its inspiration from the distinguished career of its namesake and founder, Mario Andretti, widely regarded as the greatest race car driver of all time. This Zinfandel has wonderful varietal intensity. This wine is rich on the palate with sweet, ripe fruit baked plum, spice and a refreshing finish. DaVinci Chianti Classico (Tuscany, Italy).....$33.95 A great example of a "new world" style Chianti. Dominant aromas of cherry blend beautifully with spicy scents of licorice and coffee. Elegance and structure find a perfect balance, elevating the soft tannic structure and fruity body to wonderful levels. A new favorite of ours that marries well with my rich sauces. Valdivieso Single Vineyard Merlot (Central Valley, Chile).....$33.95 This wine from Chile has a very ripe nose of pure blackcurrant fruit and a lovely, dense, ripe fruit on the palate, showing good definition. The only wine from Chile on my list, but this wine truly expresses what the folks from South America can do with grapes. A recent favorite of mine. Masi Campofiorin Valpolicella Ripasso (Verona, Italy).....$34.95 I brought this in at my mother's request. Truly remarkable. Already fermented juice is "repassed" over semi-crushed, dried grapes. The result is a rich, round, and velvety wine. Designated a "Rosso del Veronese" (red of Verona), it combines the simplicity and grace of a Valpolicella with the power and concentration of an Amarone in a highly individual style. You know what they say, "Mom knows best!" *"Full Figured Grape Juice"* Colombaia Amarone (Veneto, Italy)....$69.95 This is a wine of patience and ritual. The Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grapes are allowed to air dry until they resemble raisins, then they are crushed and begin a very slow and controlled fermentation process. After a minimum of four years of ageing it is transferred to the bottle. The result is a powerfully deep and opulent wine with a soft ripeness and a lingering finish. A rather sensual wine, capice? Umberto Cesari Liano (Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon) (Tuscany, Italy)....$55.95 A ruby red, brilliant, deep color with violet touches. Intense, rich flavors, a dry, complex, harmonious, slightly tannic taste and a lingering finish. Enjoy with my osso bucco, lasagna,caponata and cheeses. Rocco Caselli Brunello di Montalcino (Tuscany, Italy)....$69.95 Brunello aka "Little Dark One" is named for the brownish color of its grape, 100% Sangiovese grosso. This wine has deep, garnet hues with glints of ruby. Forefront notes of spice and vanilla lead into a dry, soft tannic structure. Very persistent. Villa Rosa Barolo (Piedmont, Italy)...$75.95 Barolo has long been revered as the wine of kings and the king of wines. Because of its noble heritage and limited availablilty, the wine was reserved for the ruling class. This wine has a powerful, complex aroma, that is rich in texture with a lingering finish. Great with all of my noble entree selections.
